If our contract is amended, we will see a net reduction in income and a substantial increase in our personal expenses.

I agree with you…. The Unions are in bed with the Mayor and the City Council. Has any City Worker demanded an accounting of City funds? Has anyone ever questioned why the Mayor needs so many high level employees? What does he actually do besides delegate his duties to the numerous staff members he has Has anyone ever asked the City each year what the City actually contributes to the Retirement Fund? Has anyone ever run the numbers to see if furloughs are cheaper than giving up your rights? Has anyone ever asked the Mayor how many furlough days or layoffs his office has incurred? Does anyone realize that when you turn 65 medicare automatically becomes your primary insurer and the City’s insurance becomes secondary? Basically this deal is going to have you paying for your own supplemental medical insurance when you turn 65…. don’t people realize that? and Finally, if people don’t know, currently SS for employees is 4.2% and 6.2% for the employer, we pay 6% and in July we will be paying an additional 1% for a total of 7% per paycheck. This deal wants us paying 11% is that per paycheck?
