In what has to rank as one of the worst moves in organized labor history the EAA Board of Governors has eliminated the position held by the very successful Benjamin Pezzilo and immediately hired Michael Davies to run the union into when ground
You will remember Michael Davies as the very same individual who gave away members health care in a side deal to satisfy the Mayors need for “Pension Reform” Snowballing into a retiree health care subsidy imposed on all members. His return after retiring from the City is no surprise to insiders who warned the members of the very hidden agenda well orchestrated by several retired, or soon to be retiring members who have schemed to pad their pocketbooks on the way out the door.
Average members who fell victim to this propaganda are furious at the revelation that these individuals are intent on hiring their friends and former EAA employees who have intimate relationships with some board members. In the very video and speeches passed along to members they reveal that they haven’t been involved in the union in years and now they all of a sudden decided to get involved.
Miguel Santana
CAO Santana is ready to pounce as Michael Davies has made promise after promise to the CAO in exchanges which were documented prior to his rehiring. What the future holds for EAA Members is very questionable as the membership lacks strong bargaining teams in place and no real leadership at the forefront. Unless this is an attempt by the highest levels of government to disturb the unions status quo.
Certain to suffer the legal cases EAA has filed the unit bargaining.

The new EAA has completely disabled the union website contact feature, twitter connection and wiped clean all member comments. With the advent of new MOU negotiations taking place in 1-2 days, not a single EAA member will be able to post any comments about the activities of our union. The excuse of website rehabilitation has been floated as a reason for disabling this fundamental channel of communication and group information.
I’m very disappointed with our new non-transparent union leadership.
